HYDROCOR: Revolutionizing water well rehabilitation

04.11.2026

Drinking water production involves complex systems and processes that ensure its quality and safety. Although water supply is most often associated with surface water flows, a significant part of drinking water reserves comes from specialized wells, the maintenance and regeneration of which are a prerequisite for their long-term and reliable use.

Given that environmental and technological standards are developing rapidly, there is a need for rapid harmonization of solutions for water well regeneration. The team of the Hydrocor company from Belgrade, with the support of the Innovation Fund and the European Union, has developed a new method of water well regeneration called Optimus, for more efficient well regeneration in accordance with modern requirements and standards, at the same time reducing the negative impact of water well regeneration on the environment.

In addition, the device also brings a high degree of automation to the well regeneration process. It enables continuous operation 24 hours a day, without the need for a constant presence of an operator, while all processes are monitored remotely. By connecting a phone, tablet or computer, a complete insight into the operation of the system is provided, which has not been common in the field of hydrogeology.

“One of the key advantages of this device is the self-learning algorithm, which records data during regeneration and uses it to further optimize the process and shorten the time of well renewal,” explains Miloš Pavlović, founder of Hydrocor company.

The solution has wide application potential, because all wells undergo the aging process over time, regardless of the type of well and location, so all wells must be regenerated regularly.

During the development of the device, the team faced a series of challenges, from testing and refining a prototype that could effectively regenerate wells of various sizes and purposes, to the demanding certification process, which involved significant time and resources.

The support of the Innovation Fund and the European Union proved to be crucial for the further progress of the project and its testing in real conditions.

The Innovation Fund recognized our potential and provided support at a time when it was crucial for development of the device. In addition to financial support, we also received expert support throughout the entire project cycle, which enabled us to overcome challenges that we would have had difficulty dealing with on our own,” emphasizes Vinko Turudija, company’s co-founder.

With the aim of making a solution that combines sustainability, technology and responsible management of natural resources available to a wider market, Hydrocor plans to market the device in the European Union and then in the United States.

The innovative solution is the result of the work of a team led by Miloš Pavlović, who successfully combines his economic education with practical knowledge and experience in the field of hydrogeology. The combination of different knowledge and many years of work in the field has enabled the creation of a solution that enables better use of water resources and improvement of the environment.
