Euro Heat: First Company in Serbia to Produce Heat Exchangers of Plate and Shell Combination

07.07.2015

Euro Heat from Kragujevac has been operating since 2010 and specializes in the development and production of various heat exchangers. Through the Innovation Fund’s Mini Grants Program, the Company has successfully implemented the Project for production of plate-shell heat exchangers, primarily intended for use by the general industry. It is planned that these innovative exchangers become the new standard for heat exchange in furnaces and power plants, which would replace the now obsolete tube exchangers. In the development of the plate-shell heat exchangers, Euro Heat has applied a new approach to welding internal boards through which it has gotten ridden of gaskets that have thus far been a mandatory part of within the exchanger. The above mentioned improvements have enabled the Company to sell the plate-shell heat exchangers in all fields of industry relying on high pressures and high temperatures.

Demand for plate-shell heat exchangers is in constant growth, and with continued investment and development in the plate-shell heat exchangers, the user can now with a click of a button open and clean specially designed system. Application of this product is very broad: from the food industry to the oil industry, as condensers and evaporators in distance heating systems, as well as in surroundings with delicate substances such as sulfuric acid and ammonia. The advantages of these  heat exchangers is that they can handle high pressures and temperatures from ranges of -100°C up to 400 °C, as well as they are easy to clean and service life is considerable longer compared to conventional exchangers.

“Through daily contacts with customers we often received requests for heat exchangers that could handle high pressures and high temperatures. Unfortunately at that time we could not offer this type of plate heat exchangers. We often thought about developing such heat exchangers, however lack of funds was always the prevailing factor that held us back.  Then we heard about the Serbian Innovation Fund and the development of new plate-shell heat exchangers was ready to begin. Our product is regularly featured at fairs in Moscow, Hanover, Minsk as well as at major domestic fairs we participate in. Recently at the KGH fair in Belgrade our plate-shell heat exchanger – chimney – was awarded as the most innovative product.”, stated Stevan Petković, the director and owner of the company.

With the production of the first plate-shell heat exchangers, Euro Heat directed its knowledge and opportunities towards the domestic and the local-regional market. In a short period of time, the Company experienced major success with the product and in turn it tripled the number of its workforce. At the same time, the Company was able to find a permanent partner in the Russian market where its plate-shell heat exchanger is present in the last two years. Euro Heat possess all the necessary certificates of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 18001 standards, which are required for selling heat exchangers in the Russian market. Currently, 80% of Company’s production is exported to the Russian market. In addition to Russia, Euro Heat is present in Italy, Greece and the countries of former Yugoslavia, especially Bosnia and Herzegovina and Macedonia.

Additionally, Euro Heat has a vast portfolio of new products created by modification of plate-shell heat-exchangers. Just in the last couple of years, the Company developed a special system for automatic welding of internal plates, which in turn has accelerated the process of production. The Euro Heat team is currently working on the production of larger heat exchangers that will require purchase of new equipment. The Company has recently established cooperation with Chinese partners for this reason.
